I heart you, Cleveland

If you weren't in downtown Cleveland last night, you were nowhere. It's 24 hours later and my hand is still throbbing from throwing high fives at every person that passed me. It was actually a bit surreal. It was an almost tangible euphoria that you could just shower yourself in.

Essentially, it all devolved into a block party encompassing four square blocks surrounding Quicken Loans Arena. I think whoever filmed the street videos missed the best of the night by about 1,000 feet or so (Prospect Avenue was where it was at), but this gives you an idea of the scene. As a general rule of thumb, when you can stomp on the roofs of strangers' cars and they don't even care, it's probably going to be a good night.

Tony Parker is going to destroy your defense. He's going to camp in the paint like its his second home on the Rivera. Who exactly is going to check him? Can someone answer that question? Hughes on a bum ankle? 87 year old Snow? That rookie, Tittie-baby? He's the quickest guy in the league. He's become one of the most intelligent players, especially in transition, when deciding to push vs. pull it out vs. push/pull it out/go straight to the hole. You homers are in for a special treat to watch T. Parker win his 3rd NBA title at age 25. Your only hope of stopping him is that he runs around in the paint for 3 seconds because he can't decide which open guy to throw it to. I'm telling you, you haven't seen a guy break apart a defense until you watch this kid run the floor and the Cavs have absolutely nobody that can come close to keeping him contained. He may even win Finals MVP. And FYI Lisa, James will not be guarding Parker unless your coach is a moron. They'll hide him on Bowen so he score 80 points while the rest of your "team" goes 0-fer.

And while we're at in, who's going to check Legend: T. Dunc? Ilgoskas? The dude is immobile. Gooden? LOL! That Brazillian cheap-shot artist?

Put all your hope in the fact that you beat us during the pre-season, errrrr regular season. We had the best record in the league after the All Star break, and you haven't faced us since January. Spurs playoff basketball is in full effect, we've demolished every good team in the West, and we'd be working on a 4-peat if not for a couple of flukes in 06 and 04.

Good luck winning a game against us. The matchups are not even funny, we own every one except James v. Bowen. This is a dream-come-true for the Spurs, a young, irrelevant "team" with one player that can hurt us vs. a boatload of guys that have been-there-done-that. There's nothing wrong with being proud of your "team", they've made it to the Finals and that speaks volumes (I guess, considering they play in the east). They'll get theirs once the Duncan era is in the books, but come down to reality.

Finally, here's an example of class for you. After your "team" beat the Pistons:

1) Asked by TNT's Ernie Johnson minutes ago what he thought about facing his mentor, Gregg Popovich, Brown quickly fired back, "I'm in it to win it - for the fans and for Cleveland, Ohio."

2) Said Spurs general manager R.C. Buford. "You've been through the battles and won together and reached the pinnacle together. That bond doesn't happen very often. So when you have that with guys like Mike and Lance and Danny, their success is almost as important as your own. You take great pride in sharing their successes with them, knowing how hard they approach their jobs and the integrity with which they approach their jobs."

It's called class, something the city of Cleveland is sorely missing.

Your club ganked our junior front office and staff and made them "senior". Ferry, Egan, Brown, Blanks.. they're all former Spurs who have taken the brilliance that is Spurs Basketball to the East. Cavs --> Danielson. Spurs --> Mr. Miagi. Pupil no beat Master. Spurs in 5.

@t-bone: Thanks for stopping by, my man. That email is a thing of beauty. Hopefully we do enough to keep you coming back. We appreciate the comment.

@adam: I'm guessing you came from the link at the San Antonio Express-News. Great. The only thing worse than Fanhouse commenters are newspaper commenters. Waste of my time.

ha, let's try this again (i deleted my first try after mcbain must have posted right after me in an answer to the prior comment)...

as a flyer alum ('99) and lifelong clevelander, it was great to stumble upon this via deadspin today. been bookmarked for many a return visit. if i figure out how to get the videos off my cell phone, i'll have a couple too.

i sent this email into rizzo today, and it was the last thing he read as he concluded his show.

Rizzo,
I watched at the Clevelander, got there around 6pm, tried to get up to you while you were on air but couldn't break through the mass of testosterone that was surrounding you. Reghi coming in, shades on, with said mass of testosterone chanting his name was hilarious.

Fast forward to towards the end of the game. After the final buzzer sounded, my buddy and I immediately bolted to Prospect on the east side of the arena where both the plaza crowd and the arena crowds were spilling out. We were both down at college in Dayton from '95-'99 for the Tribe's runs and were a little too young to know these occasions don't come around often during the Browns' Super Bowl runs, so we were determined to make the most of this.

I believe we set the world record for most high fives in one hour to complete strangers, and I'm hoping my voice recovers by Thursday due to the hybrid Rizzo "weeeeeeeeeee" and Ric Flair "wooooooooooooooo" I was screaming. The scene was amazing, traffic stopped, people everywhere and hanging out of windows and sunroofs, and people being so well behaved that the only thing the mounted police had to do was clear paths for parking garages to get out, as the mass of humanity stopped any chance of "traffic" for large periods of time. It was a night I'll never forget.

At the present time, everyone seems to have experience in getting loans. Financial establishments are so numerous and diverse. I happened to deal with Quicken Loans. I did not have any troubles and misunderstanding with the company. But other people have. On www.pissedconsumer, I found out that many customers are dissatisfied with the conditions of loans, which may constantly vary and change.

Hi. A very interesting blog! Talking about Quicken Loans? I had a little business with the company and I should say I am not very pleased. It is true that the company issues loans in a few minutes but the rest is a real scam. I went to this great site www.pissedconsumer.com to share my opinion on this company and was struck that I was not alone who had something to say.
