Hey TBS announcers, I don't know if you were able to catch this while trying to announce with 17 Yankee balls in your mouth while you were trying to announce the series (I'm not a urologist, but clearly A-Rod is a one-nut), but the Cleveland Indians just beat the New York Yankees.Guess what?
- The Indians had the second best record in baseball. The Yankees? Not so much.
- The Indians had better pitching than the Yankees and Roger "$16 million a win" Clemens.
- The Indians had approximately 30 times more base runners than the Yankees.
- A-Rod is approximately three for three years this postseason in non-clutch hits. He is 0 for three years in hits that make a difference. When he's up with the bases loaded, I'm pretty fucking happy. It's a guaranteed out.
- Paul Byrd doesn't suck. That Chinese dude for the Yankees? He got lit up this postseason. So why is pitching the Chinaman a good thing for the team that's down 2-1 in a five game series?
- Cool. So you're announcing and you have postseason experience in the National League. I'm grateful and really value your insight. You're so good you're now announcing instead of managing and the NL pretty much hasn't won a championship since 1908. Their only legitimate team in 100 years has been the Cardinals.
- The Indians didn't 'shock the Yankees'. They were 'better than the Yankees'. Fuck off shitty announcers.
- We get it, you want the Yankees to win. Fuck off announcers. They didn't.
To summarize, clearly this is all about the Yankees losing the series. Roger Clemens didn't rob Steinbrenner of his children's inheritance. Joe Torre isn't about to get the shaft 4,000 times worse than Marty Shottenheimer. A-Rod is still Jesus in cleats. C.C. Sabathia got lucky. Fausto Carmona is ok, but the Yankees were bothered by the bugs that didn't seem to bother the Tribe.
The ALCS starts Friday.
Time once again for the Indians to be lucky enough to play on the same field as the Boston Red Sox. No way Cleveland deserves this. Unless you're making $4 million per strikeout, don't bother showing up at Fenway.
Fuck off everyone in the media. The Tribe is for real this year.

Just a little hyperbole, I'd say. Just for starters, the Reds have been as good or better than every AL team, save one.
The Indians were marginally better than the Yankees this year, and things played out that way.
Simply put, more people care about the Yankees failing than the Indians succeeding. Check the ratings. It's business. No reason to get your panties in a bunch.
I disagree. There is no excuse for this crap. Sportscenter hasn't even had an interview with Wedge, and save for a small clip with Grady, they haven't shown shit except Yankees Yankees Yankees.
Sure it's business, but its disgusting. The East Coast media bias is just repugnant. Why are we talking about the Yankees this much? They were beaten handily and, if the Boss hadn't made that decree, then all they'd be talking about is whether or not Torre would get fired. Enough of this, the Tribe is the superior team. This shouldn't have been a surprise if you're not a retard.
Ha! I love the passion Nate, but don't forget about the Diamondbacks in 2001 (best world series ever). 2 Hall of Fame pitchers, Mark Grace will make the HOF also.
Wouldn't it be crazy if the Indians make it to the World Series this year, only to lose to the Rockies? 1997, lose to an expansion team that came into the league in 1994. 10 years later, lose to the other team that came into the league in 1994. EERIE!!!
Hadn't thought of that. Thanks...now I'm not going to sleep for the next month thinking about that.
I'll assume you're talking about the Cincinnati Reds and not English Premier League soccer? I don't follow the NL, and especially not the Reds...but this happens every year. They are down about 20 games by the All Star break and then have a sweet second half because teams know they are shitty and take the day off. Happens to the Indians vs. the Royals every year.
I understand for the purpose of SportsCenter and pregame hype that the Yankees losing is a big story. If you're going to put on the facade of 'impartial announcers', the story is the Indians winning and going back to the World Series again, a place the Yankees haven't gone in quite awhile.
And yes, drunk posting is never a good idea.
I wouldnt go by anything ESPN does. They get a "thing" and stick with it no matter what. Yankees, Red Sox, David Eckstein, USC football, Yankees, Red Sox....
Love the site guys, would like to do a link exchange...

TBS and ESPN do suck. I've known the Indians were good all year. As a Twins fan I saw Paul Byrd and CC shut down the Twinkies repeatedly. Maybe if the networks payed a little more attention to the Central division they wouldn't look so stupid.
Great post. Couldn't have said it any better. I hope that the Tribe can dispense of the other evil empire now...
I agree that they seemed biased but you have to consider fan base. The NYC Metro area has twice the population of the entire state of Ohio.
The west is virtually ignored outside of CA. I don't think the Rockies are even featured on TBS post season commercials. Yeah, they were in a playoff with SD when Dane Cook was available, but whatever.
Tribe/Rox should be a good series
i hope you see the irony in making an entire post bitching about how your precious indians didn't get enough respect, about how you're sick of hearing that the yankees lost the series rather than the indians winning it, ... and then throwing in a shitty, hyperbolic cheap shot at the NL. you see that, right? basically what you're saying here amounts to: "wah! boo hoo! i'm sooooo angry that the indians don't get more respect! just because the yankees are a big market team, all the attention goes to them, even when they lose! it's ridiculous! but also, the NL sucks because i said so and shouldn't get any attention either, even though both the rockies and diamondbacks have great teams. i mean, come on... it's the NL!" man, i was all set to cheer for you guys against the red sox, too. but i think i'd rather hear a bunch of gloating asshole new englanders than a bunch of gloating immature midwesterners. actually, scratch that- i don't care who wins the ALCS, as long as whoever wins the NLCS stomps all over them (just like last year) to shut idiots like you up.
I don't watch the NL for three reasons.
A. I'm not staying up to watch games that start at 10:00 pm.
B. The league has no bearing on the team I follow sans a couple series a year and the World Series.
C. The league and team isn't all that good. This isn't an opinion, it's a statistical fact.
These stats are a few years old, but since June '06 the AL had a 127-75 edge over the NL for a .629 win percentage and (this might be a year older) in the last eight World Series, the AL has won 29 games and the NL 12.
Do they have good teams? I guess so. Doesn't mean I care about them.
So no, I don't care about the National League.
Paul Byrd does suck. As I said in my blog today, he looks like he eats his boogers.
halle-fucking-lujah
those announcers really pissed me off. you canNOT shock a team that has a worse record than you
Every yankee run was "THE YANKEES HAVE SCORED, THEY ARE GREAT" while every Cleveland run was greeted with a quiet yawn.
get some neutrality TBS
nice backpedal. pretty big dropoff from

you didn't originally say you didn't care. you said they hadn't won a title in 100 years, when in fact they won one 11 and a half months ago. they've also won 2 of the last 4 and 3 of the last 6. your stats about the last 8 world series are heavily weighted by the '99 and '00 yankees teams. those days are obviously over. recently, in the fall classic, things have been pretty even. don't be an idiot.
and yeah, the AL has a huge edge in interleague play recently. but your magical indians are a whopping 17-19 against the NL over the course of the past 2 years. food for thought. (the rockies are 21-12 over the same span.)
Case of Marlin envy... we don't need media love, fans, attendance above 400 or the American League. You wish your team could was this sexy.
"Uh, Dude, Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please."
Thank you, Chad. Christ, I've been waiting all day for someone to drop a Big Lebowski reference. Shame on you and your actual issues, commenters.
Your owners don't hate the fucking yankees when the put their hands out for their revenue sharing check, do they? Um no not so much. They take Steinbrenner's money just like the rest of baseball.
"The gross amount of revenue sharing for 2007 is estimated at close to $350 million. More than $100 million of that amount is expected to come from the Yankees. This sort of thing would have been unthinkable in baseball not that long ago. Today, Robin Hood is a baseball role model, although the "robbing from the rich" terminology, which could be troubling, has been replaced by "marginal redistribution of income." " mlb.com
so do you want me to calculate how much of that your Indians get? Or can we just figure on 2 - 3 players salaries?
I'm sorry, but big market teams are the only reason many small market teams keep their heads above water. Ask the owners of all the clubs whose ONLY sellouts this year came in the form of visiting Red Sox or Yankees.

... he said ironically to the Indians fan.
